What if my florals are already dried up?In most cases, this is totally fine. I love working with clients who have held onto their special florals for several years in hopes of doing something with them one day. About 20% of flowers I receive have been previously dried. Fill out my contact form (enter contact form link here when website is live) and I can help guide you on our options.
-
How long does this process take? There are several different ways to complete preservation. However, each style is professionally and uniquely picked based off of the item I am making, including the type of flower as well. For the majority of orders a 3-6 month turnaround time due to high-demand and a careful detailed multistep process that cannot be rushed. I promise, it will be worth it!
-
When should I book my floral preservation?I recommend booking floral preservation as soon as (or even before) you secure your florist. The sooner the better. Especially if your wedding is in the super busy months of May, June, September, or October. That way I have plenty of time to prep preservation materials, reserve your date range with materials & prep supplies based off items wanted. Due to being high-demand, I book up several months in advance. If you know preservation is something you are wanting, please do not wait! This also allows you time to budget, decide on items and have plenty of time to prepare shipping, pre-schedule bouquet delivery, etc. Pre-planning makes the entire process much easier.
-
What if there are leftover florals after you complete my project? You have the option to donate your remaining dried flowers to a project of items I make that will be donated to Betty’s Brave and Beautiful Hearts Foundation. This non-profit supports Kentucky women who are currently battling cancer. Instead of any tips, I kindly ask that you donate towards this amazing cause. You can also keep, (if any) remaining flowers by request only.

What is the process of floral preservation?Floral preservation is a process that extracts moisture from the flowers (creating dehydrated or dried flowers), maintaining the dehydrated state and sealing the flowers to protect their natural shape. Floral preservation is an art form that requires precision and a professional’s touch and several years of experience. Expired Beauty’s carefully monitored preservation process keeps your flowers looking much like they did in your original arrangement, but our process produces flowers that are not as brittle as other traditional preservation processes. All flowers are displayed inside a virtually airtight keepsake environment when finished, an important feature which keeps the flowers within the display safe from everyday environmental conditions that may harm flowers over time. My process is also unique due to color-enhancing step conducted with every single flower before it is placed into a keepsake…the key to color-longevity over time!
-
Do you provide a timeline for all projects?Absolutely! Timelines depend on season, overall item total, and preservation process. After 6-8 weeks from getting your flowers, they should be dry and ready for the floral design process. Once you approve of floral design pictures sent, a new updated timeline will be provided for completion. Overall estimated 3-6 months for turnaround.

What can I expect with my resin piece? Will it change color over time?Although I use top of the line, eco-friendly, quality approved resin, all resin will yellow to a degree over years and years overtime. However, the grade-A resin I use has UV inhibitors that will delay the change in color. I also coat the dried florals with a UV protectant mist for double protection. I always recommend NOT displaying in sunlight.
-
How long will my artwork last?As long as you treat your piece with gentle care, it should be with you for years and years to come! A tip to enjoy your blooms forever...place your piece away from direct sunlight and in dry places (avoid bathrooms/high moisture rooms) where the piece might get exposed to humidity. Although my floral preservation processes and sealants help preserve the color of your flowers overtime, keep in mind that your piece was once a real, living flower. Expect your flowers to change colors slightly, just like any original painting would after years.
-
Why do you require a deposit to book?Wedding seasons get busy! By booking months in advance, a deposit is required to secure your event date and the 3-6 month turnaround time for each project. Wedding floral preservation deposit is $250, $50 of deposit goes towards item total. If booked less than 5 days in advance a $100 rush fee will be added (funerals do not apply).
-
When do I need to pay in full?Deposit is placed at the time of booking, the remaining balance is due at the time I receive the flowers at floral delivery/drop off.
-
What payment options do you accept? This is why I stress about booking well in advance so you have plenty of time to budget. I pride myself with having affordable competitive pricing while still offering high quality products that won’t break the bank. Preservation is also a great idea to put on your registry or have a group go in as a gift. Everyone should have the opportunity to preserve their memories, untouched by time.
